The past few weeks

It's been awhile since I've updated...I've been quite busy between company coming and me going to Florida for 17 days. It was sooo good to be HOME for that short amount of time! I really enjoyed spending time with my family and taking Chase and Kenzie trick or treating. We went to Azteca (of course), hit up a few corn mazes, movies, etc etc etc. I miss home SO much. I wish Tylor was stationed closer. Two days before I left to come back to Washington my uncle had a brain anerysum. Luckily his friend found him in time and hes been in the hospital, slowly but surely improving. Now I'm back in Washington, it was good to come back to Tylor and Jaeger, I'm hoping to go home in Feb, when Tylor isn't working nights (yes, I am planning my schedule on what would be best for the dog lol) It will be interesting to see how this Thanksgiving goes with my homesickness....it will be different, thats for sure. BUT I am so happy I get to spend it with Tylor this year! This is our 4th Thanksgiving, but only 2nd one being "together" and luckily one of Tylors friends from work invited us (and Jaeger) over to their house. For everyones safety I'm not going to attempt to cook a bird or any other meat....we are just in charge of a green bean casserole...which brings us going grocery shopping at 7 tomorrow morning....the day before Thanksgiving because we have put it off. Are you surprised?! We went out to dinner with some friends last week, and seen Paranormal Activity 3 (for my second time) It was good to get out and socialize with people.
We also went driving around, in North Bend we saw a HUGE herd of Elk at the base of the mountain. We of course pulled over and took a picture. It was an awesome view. I love our little adventures. I am going back and forth on my thoughts of whether or not I want to go to school for a Vet Tech or continue my education/experience on office clerk/assistant. I really need to know billing and coding to work at another office. I would enjoy the vet tech way more in the long run...but from what I understand it involves a lot of math...and we all know I am HORRIBLE at math. On my college placement test I scored so high in English that I don't have to take any English classes, but so low on math that I have to take 2 math classes before I can even take college algebra! When I say I am horribe at math..it't not an understatment.
Tylors doing great, he is working the night shift until Feb...so that sucks. But he still only works about 16 days a month so thats a plus..he never works a full work week so I can't complain.
Our monster puppy is doing good as well, this past week we had a scare, well..2. 8 hours after Jaeger ate he regurgitated UNDIGESTED food. Concerned me..but I blew it off. Like Tylor says, "hes a dog, dogs throw up" 3 days later he did it again. I freaked, googled, freaked more. All my searches were pointing to Megaesophagus. Which basically means the food doesn't get to the stomach, it just sits in the esophagus until the dogs reflex's regurgitate it. Very bad disease...the dogs life span isn't as long, they have to eat a special way (standing on hind legs, basically) for the rest of their life, and about 20 minutes after they eat you have to keep them standing...YEAH RIGHT...have you met our dog??! And then is the VERY HIGH risk of them aspirating. So needless to say I made an appointment with the vet. She asked if he was a fast eater...yes, extremely fast...she suggested us slow him down eating by only feeding him about 5 pieces at a time. If that doesn't work...he will have to go back for a barium and xray to test for, you guessed it, Megaesophagus. I don't think I breathed for a whole minute after she said that. It scared me to death after reading all the tragic stories. I was upset for the whole rest of the day. I couldn't even think straight. I feel way calmer today, we have brought some new treats for Jaeger the past few weeks, one being dried sweet potato sweets...healthy, but very hard and rigged. And the other being a "senior" antler chew that has mainly the marrow (since Jaeger chews WAY too hard on his antlers, and has the chipped tooth to prove it) Maybe they just caused some irritation. He only regurgitated twice, and the last time was Friday. It is now Tuesday and we haven't had a problem. I am going to continue to hold back the treats. Just pray for our brat dog...if anything happened to him I think I would die from heartbreak. I know people laugh and make fun of me how "obsessed" I am with my dog. But nobody will ever know how much he has helped me with my homesickness. Theres been lots of times where he has been my only company...he has made me laugh every single day. Its not easy moving away from your family...especially when you go from sunny Florida to gloomy Washington. I feel a lot more confident that Jaeger doesn't have Megaesophagus...but if he did I would do whatever it takes for him to live as long as possible, as long as he still had a quality of life. Even if that means harder work and more stress. I love this dog....if you have me on Facebook then you know that haha Maybe Tylor is right....I do just need to become a damn vet :)

The rain is here. This is my first winter in Washington. I JUST got adjusted to the "summer" and that wasn't even the worst part! Wish me luck.
